They are from a furniture collection called "Rough Diamond" designed by Lee Broom. I think they are very unique and interesting! I'm especially in love with the chair on the first photo! Sadly though, these probably serve as decoration pieces, not actual chairs that you can sit in.

These days, I havent been in such a good writing mood, which is the reason why lately most of my posts have been mostly pictures. I guess its just a lack of inspirations and things to write about but today I don't feel like that, today I actually feel like writing again :) haha.

Recently, (well since yesterday to be exact) I stumped over Stockholm Street Style site and basically fell in love with street style all over again :) It's very interesting to see what people are wearing and what their style is like. Here's a couple of photos that I really liked:
I love this mix of different prints, fur and leather! Very unique and chic :)That is such a nice fur coat! Oh my...I've been seeing many people wearing these kind of gigantic scarfs. It looks very cozy, it's like a perfect pillow for naps during boring classes! haha :)
Here I really loved the pants and the purse but what amazed me the most is the length of this girls hair! I wonder how long it took to grow it?

Petra Nemcova. To be honest, I'm not sure who she is but I'm totally in love with her hair! I love the color and the haircut, especially her bangs! It's so unique! Many people don't like this for some reason but I'm not one of those. This kind bang is very tricky, it doesn't look good on some people because it kinda makes their faces appear wider but I think it looks wonderful on Petra! I want it now! Haha, though I doubt that I'll be able to pull it off as good as her!

RESORT 2009

I love when Resort collections come out. They are my favorite kind. I love them even more than I love Spring and Fall Ready-to-Wear collections. I don't know, there's just something so fresh and beautiful about them. I look forward to seeing them every season! When I looked through Resort 2009 collections, my mouth was literally open because I was amazed by such beautiful creations. And, the fact that the clothes in Resort collections always look wearable, makes me love them even more! :)

Anyways, after I saved all the photos I loved and put them nicely in seperate folders on my computer, I began to go over all the photos once again. I noticed that many designers used flowers and soft pastel colors, which gave the collections a very romantic and feminine look. Some other designers like Narciso Rodriguez, for example, combined bright colors such as orange or turquoise, with simple classic colors. Also, the use of simple shapes and clean lines, which many designers used, gave collections a minimalistic look. What I also noticed, which facinates me, is how some designers mixed different kinds of prints together, prints that you never thought would look good when combined. You can look at Tuleh's collection to see what I'm talking about.

So, here are some of my favorite photos from collections that I really loved. I put them into different little categories that I just described above. Though, some go into more than one category so don't pay too much attention to the titles, haha ;)

Eesti Street Style (Estonian)

I remember when I first layed my eyes on the Estonian Street Style blog, Just Glitter Lust, I was very thrilled and excited! The reasons are because, well first of all, Estonia is where I was born. Second of all, I really love and admire it. And third of all, its very exciting for me, as a citizen of the little beautiful country in the North-Eastern Europe, to finally see Estonia be recognized- fashion wise. I think that Estonia has a really great fashion potential, I have big hopes for it. I have no doubts that the fashion industry in Estonia will keep expanding and becoming more and more trendy and stylish.

How Disappointing

What the hell is going on with Elle(US)? First, they put Mariah Carry on the cover and now Jessica Simpson? It's very dissapointing. The cover to me, looks "too country" for a fashion magazine like Elle. Where's the glam? Like most people, I look at fashion magazines to see wardrobe that you normally don't see in daily life. Just last night, when I was in downtown, I saw someone dressed almost exactly like Jessica on this cover.
In addition to the horrible wardrobe, the cover looks completely fake with all the photoshop and airbrushing.

Blue Fade

I've noticed lately, that fading is becoming very popular in clothes. Though, I do know that tie-dyed stuff is really in right now. But fading is a little different. In Nina Ricci's Resort '08 collection you can see a great example of fading. I am deeply in love with the those blue faded leggings! I've never seen leggings like that, they look really cool. I also love the way the fabric's color fades from one color to another, you can really see it on the first photo from right.

Anyways, speaking of the tie-dye trend. I totally adore tie-dyed shirts, scarfs, dresses, but jeans? I don't know, I'm still deciding whether I like or dislike the "tied-dyed jeans" look. It's definitely interesting and different but there's something about them that makes my eyes hurt when I look at them. I bet that not many people can pull them off!

Alexander Terexov

So, here is the promised post about Alexander Terexov, the Russian designer. He's young, gorgeous and talented. He is my second favorite Russian designer (my first one is of course-Valentin Yudashkin) I'm in love with him and his designs.

His clothes are always simple, beautiful and fresh. It's clean-cut and minimalist. I admire his use of fabrics and colors. I adore the pastel silk fabrics, the white blouses, the shimmering coctail dresses, and the knee-length skirts, etc.

Once during an interview, Alexander said that: "he strives for stability in the crazy world of fashion." And I really really think that he is doing a wonderful job at that!

Spring/Summer 2008 Collection

This is probably one of my favorite outfits from this collection. I love the contrast of white and black. I also love the way the dress hugs the body. It's just all so elegant! :) The shape of this coat is very interesting and I really love the collar!
Simply beautiful! It's like a white fluffy cloud, very delicate :)

In one of my previous posts, I said that I read fashion magazine after a few months after I purchase them because a lot of the materials don't seem to grab my attention at first glance.

Well, as I was looking through one of my old issues of Elle, I noticed this photoshoot and this actress. I've seen these photos a million times when I flipped through the magazine before but never really payed attention to who it was on the photos. Though, she always looked familiar to me and as it turned out, I do know who she is! I found out that there was an article that went with the photoshoot. After I read the article, I realized who she is! Her name is Marion Cotillard. She is a french actress. She played in Taxi 1, 2, and 3. It's my favorite french movies.

She's a gorgeous woman and a very talented actress. She appeared in more than 50 movies in France and a couple international movies. In 2007, she won the Academic Award for Best Actress.

I love this photoshoot! It has a very artistic and mysterious look to it! And for some reason, the word glam comes to my mind :)

I noticed that most models have really great style. It's simple, laid back but at the same time very stylish and sophisticated. I love it. Here's some of my favorites:

Anya and Katarzyna

Two of my favorite contestants from last season's ANTM have been signed with Elite Model Management. Anya Rozova and Katarzyna Dolinska. In my opinion, they were the best out of the whole bunch. And have the most potential to be high-fashion models.

To be honest, I gave up on the show after the first 2 season because it kind of became "just for entertainment" because after the seasons are over, you do not see any of the models anywhere! So really, what is the point? I still watch it thought, in hopes for seeing a real model who won't dissappear after the show is over. So, after reading about Anya and Katarzyna getting signed for Elite, I was like "Yay, ANTM models can actually model!"

According to Booker Jose Covarrubias-the agency asked for [Anya] after the show ended. I love her and her unique accent! And she got great features, she has that the Eastern-European look that is very in right now in the ever-changing fashion industry.
Alongside with Anya, Kataryza was also signed with Elite Model Management. According to a source, she was signed the second she lost! I totally love this girl too and I was really taken aback when she got kicked off the show. I also found it very unfair how they kicked her off because "she didn't show enough personality". I really don't understand what the judges wanted from her? In my opinion, she always took their critisism well, and unlike some girls, she was always polite and respectful. I really really don't get it. Anyways, I'm really happy for this girl, she got great appearance, also very Eastern-European!

I can't wait to see these girls in editorials and at Fashion Week!

While I am on the same note, I thought I would post these beautiful photographs by a very talented French photographer - Robert Doisneua. I discovered his art/work when I was doing a research paper on famous photographers in my photography class. I'm so glad that I discovered him because his photographs are truly a work of art. He found daily life of ordinary people exiting and interesting. He loved capturing images of people and the atmosphere of the city he loved, which is Paris.

I think the reason why I love these photos so much is because they all seem to tell a story. They all express so much feelings and emotions. They make you wonder about the people in the photos; what they were doing, what were they saying, what were they feeling, etc.

Everyone can relate to these photos because we all have a lot in common with the people in them. We fall in love, we play, we celebrate and have fun, we are all human beings who are trying to live their lives. Robert Doisneau was a real ultimate storyteller :)

I don't know if its just me but black and white photos always inspire me. I'm not even sure in what way, really, but when I look at them, I expirience something extrodinary inside of me. And I'm not talking about photos that were taken on purpose, where people knew that the photo was being taken. I'm talking about spontaneous photos - my favourite kind. They always seem to have more meaning somehow and I love that :)

When it comes to fashion magazines, I always take my time reading them. Some people read the whole magazine at once, carefully looking at every page and reading every word. Some people just look at pictures and things that interests them the most. Me, when I get a new magazine, I usually just flip through it really fast, looking at photos and editorials. Then if nothing interests me at first glance, I put it away. After some time, I come back to it and read carefully through each page. I know, it's a little strange but I noticed that I do that with every single magazine!

So, yesterday, I picked up my copy of Elle March '08 (finally after like 4 months! lol) and started reading it. I couldn't believe how many interesting things I kept myself from reading! One of the articles that I discoved was an interview with a new young Hungarian designer - Sandra Sandor. (scan of it above :) And I literally fell in love with her collection - Nanushka. I love the style of her clothing. It's sophisticated and classy yet very casual and "athletic". I adore this kind of clothing because it's wearable and simple(and as I imagine, very comfortable). Nothing extra, no unnecessary details. It's also very European and I love that!

Russian Celeb Style: Serebro

As I promised, here are the russian celebrities and their style. I decided to start with a post about a russian pop/rock girl group-Serebro (which in russian means silver). The group was born about a year ago. In 2007, they represented Russia in Eurovision, a song contest that is held every year in Europe. Their song, "Number One Song", took 3rd place. No one knew who they are before Eurovision but after it, the whole Europe knew them! Now, they are very popular and every song that they produce becomes a hit!

Oh my, it's Haute Couture!

It's Haute Couture Fashion Week. To be honest, I was never really that fond of Haute Couture but this season completely changed my view of it. Now, I'm totally in love with it! It's so exaggerating, creative and fun! I love fashion this way! As I was looking through the new collections, I was amazed by everything! I think I saved almost every picture that I saw.

So, with that said, instead of just posting a couple of pictures from each collection and writing about it, I made collages of my most favorite collections. Which include my little comments. It was very hard to choose because I loved everything. My top four are: Chanel, Giorgio Armani Prive, Jean Paul Gaultier and Christian Dior.

For those who have watched Project Runway, these phrases would sounds pretty familiar. Don't they? I haven't watched the whole show, I only watched some videos on youtube and read a couple of things about it there and there. I was really amazed by Christian Siriano. Though, to be honest, when I first heard him, my first thought was" "Oh no, another gay-fashion wannabe..." I was really annoyed by him and his squiky voice and all the 'fierce' talk. But when I saw his work, my opinion of him changed. He's so young and so talented. I bet you, he is going to be BIG, his designs are amazing! Victoria Beckham is totally in love with them and that means a lot! "The fact that she wanted to wear my clothes? Nobody can ever take that away from me.”

"I said nothing the judges didn't say, and nothing I regret. Everything on that show is about being a diva. I loved it. And hey, I won fan favorite." - Christian My favorite dress! I love how the colors combine together! From dark chocolate to vanilla :)After Christian won the final challege, "instead of celebrating with his fellow castmates, he snuck off to his hotel for a quiet night alone, where he ate a box of Yodels and read an issue of ELLE. “I know it sounds weird,” he says, “but all I wanted to do was look at fashion.”I adore both of these outfits! The hat-gigantic-scarf is genius!

The closing ceremony of MFF

Yesterday I watched the closing ceremony of the Moscow's 30th International Film Festival. They showed it on the russian channel. I love how Russian ceremonys are always so sophisticated and intellegent. To be honest, I enjoy it more than the American Red Carpet. Anyways, it was very interesting to watch. They had like at least four translators: in english, french, italian, and I think even arabic. The only thing that bugged me was that the english translator wasn't very good, she kept messing up and translating words and phrases wrong. But overall, everything was amazing :) Here are pictures from the "red carpet" and the after party!

I love Jean Paul Gaultier! He's a very talented designer. "Master tailor, master craftsman, master provocateur" and also, a master of contrast. He is really good at contrasting colors together :) In his men collection for Spring 09, you can really see how brilliant he is! The collection is mostly in neutral colors but the way they are combined together is just amazing! I didn't like everything but there were a couple of interesting pieces that caught my eye. (For example, that brown leather jacket, the black and the white suit!)

Oh wow, I gotta admit, I enjoy looking through the men's collections. It's so interesting to see the things designers come up with that make men look like women. Seriously-- LACE, LEGGINGS and HOT PINK!?

Okay, and now about women's fashion. I don't get why there are women on the runway at a Menswear Fashion Week?! For example, here are models at Roberto Cavalli show! I love his dresses, I love Italian fashion! It's so chic and sexy! And here's some more models at Alexander McQueen Mens Fashion Show! I gotta say, that swimsuit looks much better on her than the guy (I posted a picture of him in my last post!)

I never really understood Men's high fashion. To be honest, I actually find it quite amusing. Men fashion is very limited and much narrower than women's. But I think there is nothing wrong with that. All a man really needs is a good pair of shoes, pants, a shirt and a well-tailored suit. Well, at least in my opinion, because otherwise a man just ends up looking like he's not sure about his sexual orientation.

While looking through pictures of the Milan Men's Fashion Shows Spring 2009, I was in between two emotions: amusement and amazement. In almost every collection, I saw at least one piece that I loved. But then again, I also saw many that were just bizaree which no self-respecting man would ever wear. I understand that it's not supposed to be worn in reality, it's all about being creative and stuff but I think that sometimes designers go over board with their designs for men. Here are some things that, well in my opinion, go into that category of "over board":
Haha, I'm sorry, I just have to comment on these three. They gave me a big laugh. The first one- are you serious? Is that supposed to be a swimsuit? or what? and the shoes are just so wrong. The second one's top really looks like it was designed for women. Shiny feathers/sequences are not ment to be worn by men! And dont even get me started about the third, is that supposed to be a dress?! Hahahaa :D That is all I have to say!

Okay, now that I am done laughing, I can talk about the pieces that amazed me :) I really loved some pieces from the Dolce & Gabbana, Calvin Klein, DSquared, Salvatore Ferragamo and Armani collections. Plus, their male models actually looked like men and by that I mean that they didn't look like skinny girls with bunch of make-up. They were tanned and buffed! This to me is men fashion.

For some reason, today I dont feel like writing too much, even though I have so many ideas floating in my head :)) I just can't seem to concentrate, so instead of writing, I want to post about the latest new ads for men fragrences. I looove the smell of men perfumes!

1. Giorgio Armani Diamonds for Men. Yes, my wish has came true! Josh Hartnett is the new face of the fragrance! I think he is perfect for it :D

2. Givenchy featuring Justing Timberlake! He looks good ;)

I find it a little strange how they are both black and white. Though I do think they look amazing!

I think it's no news for anyone now that the Gladiator shoes are a big trend this season!? They are everywhere, they come in many different forms and styles - short, long, high-heels, colorful, laced-up, metallic, sandals, flats, you name it!

Right now, I'm in love with gladiators but when I first saw them a couple of years ago, I wasnt very fond of them, I thought they were weird-looking but now, I cant wait to get a pair! They are amazingly comfortable and perfect for hot summers :)

30th Moscow Film Festival

I decided that I'm going to add a little more foreign touch to this blog by posting more posts about the fashion in Russia and include russian celebs! So, lets start my first post with the 30th Annual Moscow International Film Festival. The opening ceremony took place on the 19th of June. The Festival will be held until the 28th. So for now, Moscow is the new Cannes ;) Here are some pics from the "Red Carpet" that I loved, everyone was dressed so well!

I finally decided to get on this thing again...I havent blogged for a while now, since around January when I finished my fashion blog project for school. This will be the continuation of that blog and I will keep on doing what I was doing before :) Which is writing about fashion and everything related to it! Lately, I've been browsing through many different fashion & style blogs and sorta got an urge to blog as well! :)

This summer I'm not doing much expect work, I'm an intern at this one cute little boutique called Garnish :) Since all of my friends are going to their home countries for the summer and I am the only who unfortunatly is staying in the States, I will come here quite frequently ;)
